Confidence is all you need

"I don't trust Kion, we would be much better off if the older one just took over this trip!" 

Roxy bit her tongue, her chest puffing out angrily as she resisted the urge to make the zebra into her dinner. How dare they talk like that about the prince? Sure he was young, but he and the guard just saved all their butts! She looked over to the young Guard, who were huddled at the top of the ridge watching the herds with a close eye. She scanned the group, but came up short one member. She sighed and padded over to them slowly. 

"Where's Kion?" She spoke softly, watching the member's expressions shifting. 

"I think he went over there to think." Beshte responded, nodding his head over towards the small pathway in front of them. "He seemed pretty upset."

"No doubt.....These herds aren't going to get any easier while they're starving.... Stay here and watch them, i'll be right back." With another nod, she trotted along the trail until she found the large cub sitting alone with his head down low.

"Kion...."

"I'm just screwing things up," He spoke without looking up, his ears folding sadly against his head. Roxy couldn't help but feel her heart breaking a little to see the normally determined and excitable cub looking so down and dejected. "Dad was wrong to let me take on this mission....Maybe they're right, maybe I should just let you take over..."

The older lioness scoffed, making the cub lift his head. She walked over and sat near him, pulling him close with her paw and tousled his fur-tuft. "What? No way! Kion, I'm just here to make sure you kids don't get lost or torn into shreds. YOU are the leader of this mission and I think you're doing a very great job! You saved the herd after the flood, that's our job!"

"But they're mad at me..."

"For what? Saving their lives? They can get over it, they'll live!" A laugh escaped the lioness' throat, which in turn made Kion smile, if just a little. "Little brother, you are one of the best leaders, you are determined and brave, you never quit until the job is done. You need to be confident in yourself, confidence is the key in this whole deal... Your confidence will rub off, you'll see." 

"....Thank you..." Kion smiled, rubbing his head against his sister's chest. 

"Of course." She chuckled, nudging his rear with her head playfully. "Now get back out there, we have a hungry herd to lead."

Lol i colored the sketch and got carried away with the story- I'm really happy with how this came out~ the background isn't awesome but I'm happy with it- Kion and Roxy i'm happy with though <3
