Description

Tundra sniffled, looking up at the older dog with a sad look in her eyes. Mother's day was always a strange holiday for her. She barely remembered her mother, but always missed her dearly whenever she saw the other pups with their parents. But this time it was different..."Aunt Dolly..?" She spoke quietly, tilting her head as she looked at the husky who claimed to be her father's sister. She didn't remember her father that well either, but she trusted her. She felt a connection to her.  "...What was my mom like?"

Dolly looked down at Tundra, tears forming a bit in her eyes as she recalled memories of her time with Snowdrop. She had known her mother since they were pups, when Dolly was adopted she ended up being next-door neighbors with the gray husky. "She was a wonderful pup....We lost touch when we were teens after moving.... But I loved her like a sister. She was a sweet pup with a heart of gold, and I can tell you have a lot of her in you... Lucky for us you didn't inherit your father's grumpiness.."

"But my brother did..." Tundra scoffed, rolling her eyes a bit as the thought of the bully made her fur stand on end.

"Now now..." Dolly smiled, brushing her paw against Tundra's back. "I'm sure he'll come around some day..."

Tundra nodded, her icy blue eyes drifting down to her paws. There were a million questions running through her mind. Why did her dad leave? How many other aunties or uncles could she have? But only one came out of her muzzle.

"Do you think she would be proud of me...? I mean....I wish she could be here...."

Dolly chuckled softly, a tear rolling down her cheek as she brought her paw to Tundra's shoulder.

"She is here sugarplum, She's always around ya in everything ya do....

When the gentle wind blows that's her paw on yer face...

When the trees give ya shade that's her sheltering embrace.

When the sun shines on ya' that's her ticklin’ her girl,

and once the rain falls wetting yer fur, she's crying tears of joy.

When the long grass enfolds ya, that's her holding ya nice and tight, then when the day is over and the birds are singing,

that's her whispering ya "good night.” "

Dolly paused, wiping the tears from her cheeks as she gazed down at the young husky pup at her paws. She smiled, seeing the smile growing on the pup's face. "She is always with ya my dear niece that's nothing to worry about and for sure she's watched how much ya've grown and all those ya’ll helped, I know for sure she's truly proud of ya."

Meet RaindropLily's OC, Dolly! She's one of Glacier's sisters and is the Aunt of Tundra and Blizzard. As mentioned, she was actually close friends from puphood until pre-teens when the two met at the dog park and ended up being neighbors. The two were seperated once snowdrop moved away. She then got in touch with Snowdrop again a year or so later and she eagerly explained to her friend that she had met someone. Imagine Dolly's surprise when it ends up being her brother!

The two are grief stricken when Snowdrop dies, but Dolly doesn't end up knowing about Tundra living on the streets or joining the PAW Patrol until the older dog runs into her again while the puppy is taking a sulky walk around the park during mother's day. c: Dolly spends the day with Tundra and tells her about her parents, but mostly about her mother

RaindropLily did the sketch and I did the line and colors~ She was inspired by the poem in the Rugrats episode Mother's Day, when Chuckie finds out more about his mother during Mother's day and Chas reads him a poem that his mother had wrote before she passed away. She edited a little bit to fit Tundra and Dolly's accent c:

Dolly is based off of Aunt Dolly from Hannah Montana, so she has a southern accent that was picked up from her owners :P

For more of a backstory on Snowdrop and Glacier, read my fanfic Pups and the walk down memory lane, it's honestly one of my favorites that i've worked on ;u;

This reminds me of me and my grandfather…he recently passed away last May, and I’m still a bit traumatized from it…sometimes, my dad still has a dream of him…

I’m slowly feeling better, but I miss him so much…
